D2-Academia Partnership

D2 maintains a strong academia relationship. We believe there is an important need for industry and academia to collaborate in Nepal. Industries can support academic research and in the same vein successful academic research can be the basis of innovation for industries. By being involved with academia, D2 wants to be able to upgrade computer science education in Nepal, promote research and innovation in universities and also provide an early employment opportunity to students.

D2’s collaboration with Nepal’s universities have been the following:

• Designing and teaching academic courses
• Sponsoring college events for computer science
• Internship program

Our aim is to make the latest developments in the computer science field accessible to students, either by teaching a course in the classroom or by giving them an opportunity to use those developments in their internship projects. Internships at D2 is a year round process. We assign senior mentors to the selected interns/trainees for guidance. Our internship program lasts for about 3 months, but in some cases, depending upon the participants and their projects, may exceed that.

Internship programs at D2Hawkeye can be undertaken in any of the categories mentioned below.

• Onsite Internship ( College Affiliate)
• Onsite Internship ( Direct Approach )
• Offsite internship – Mentor Administered (Both College Affiliate and Direct Approach)
• Any other (if not covered in any of the above such as fresh college students who do not have any work experience etc.)
• Trainee Program (For Fresh Graduates – Direct Approach)

Currently we have 20 part time onsite interns, 4 offsite interns and 9 fulltime trainees in our organization from various universities in Nepal.
